Valve model for you to test file formats and quality of geometry.

This is an assembly of two parts: the valve body and valve seat is a made as the fluid volume, the valve plug is a solid body in the CFD simulation.

The downloadable package also has a pdf guide describing the necessary volume and surface regions and suitable boundary conditions to help you get started with the simulation.

Valve Geometry

A simple valve geometry is provided in STEP (.stp) format to test model download. This valve model is made of two parts: the valve seat with inlet and outlet sections and the valve member (plug).

Model properties:

  • In STEP (.stp) file format,
  • Assembly of two parts: valve seat as volume of fluid and valve plug as solid body,
  • Model is set to have the plug in a 5mm open position from the seat,
  • DN50 inner diameter,
  • Symmetric model so that Slip/Symmetry boundary condition can be used in the simulation,
